Art Project 2010
-
29-05-2010
The project was organised and run by John Burnham. The project was to promote and improve the range of social activities available to sheltered housing residents through the medium of Art. Our Sheltered Housing residents really took up the challenge when we asked them to create artwork for the Over 60’s Art Competition in May. We received nearly one hundred entries and our judges had a hard task choosing the winning pieces.
Talent Bridgewater Housing Manager and competition judge, Liz Robertson said: “We were amazed at the standard of artwork that came in, we obviously have some really talented artists among our sheltered housing residents. Choosing the winners was tough but we got there in the end.” Phyllis Cole who lives at Maudsley House and has limited sight was awarded third prize for her trio of artwork. She said: “I love painting and will continue to do so as long as my sight allows me to.”
