Community Activities

A residents association is in the process of being set up at York Court, after our consultation BBQ on the 5th of June some resident’s would like one to be set-up to support and fund-raise for a change in the Communal Green Area. Come and find out how to set-up a Residents Association and what benefit it would be to you as a local resident.

What is a Residents’ Association?
A Residents’ Association is a group, made up of local residents who represent the interests of everyone living in a particular area. It plays a large part in dealing with problems that people come up against, as well as organising things like social events. Residents’ Associations are set up for everyone to join. Membership is open to all local residents. Groups do not discriminate against members of the community because of race, age, sexual orientation, disability, religion or gender.

How do Residents’ Associations work?
They meet to talk about the problems in their community like: *Litter *Parking *Vandalism * Dog Fouling

The group may also help to arrange more Children’s Activities or set up a Pensioners Club. They can also arrange Social events.

Why get involved?
It’s an opportunity to meet new people, deal with local and community issues and find out more about how to improve your neighbourhood.

If you are interested in being involved in local issues , come along on the 7th of July to talk to us at MDHA Offices.
