Originally from Northumbria, I am a retired Marine Engineer and have lived in this area for over 20 years. I have many years experience of both home ownership and social housing.
Joining the tenants’ organization, formally Tenants Link, appealed to me because having lost the services of local councillors to assist them, tenants should have other people to look after their interests in general and also individual problems in particular. I hope was that I could help to do this.
While I believe that local authorities should retain their housing stock I also firmly believe that MDHA is as good an association as most and better than many, and that it is currently improving its services rapidly. It is for us to insure that it becomes if not the best then among the very best. It is with this aim in mind that I remain a member of the Residents association.
