New recruits join the Residents’ Association Executive Committee

The residents had put themselves forward as part of the open nomination process which all residents were invited to take part in.
There were five vacancies on the Executive Committee this year. Two members were standing for re-election and with three new nominees, all five were
automatically elected at the AGM to serve for a three year term.

What did we achieve last year?
o We recruited five new members onto the Executive Committee;
o Developed an action plan for the year ahead
o Made changes to our constitution
o Put forward residents’ views to the government about new standards for housing.
o Campaigned for the gardening help scheme for elderly and disabled residents to be done in-house to provide a more caring service;
o Worked to improve the grounds maintenance service;
o Job shadowed MDHA staff to find out more about their work;
o Worked with the Association to write a Vulnerability Policy and Single Equality Scheme.
o Three members started Active Learning for Residents training to develop skills to work with local communities.
